PNW - Vancouver
This trip started with a high, even before it began. Abut (I accidentally typed it like that, but I'm leaving it since... Canada), so abut 20 mins before the shuttle was to pick me up from my apartment in LA to the airport, I luckily found my passport. Score!
Madre and I had a room on the 11th floor of a hotel in a young, hip area of downtown Vancouver on Robson Street. We had awesome views of the city. We went to a cool vintage shop, where I acquired yet another pair of sunglasses, and an Amy Grant tee shirt. It inspired me to listen to old school Amy Grant tracks - "Every Heartbeat Belongs to You". Forgot that song existed! We had great views of the water and sunsets, as well as great food!
Food journal (the highlights):
Earl's: Fantastic thai vegetable stir fry on the rooftop. Watched an Australian artist perform - Colin Bullock. Met him afterward and bought his CD and cassette tape. Gave him my business card if he's ever in LA.
De Dutch: A Danish brunch. Low key place and authentic. I had deBakon.
Joe Fortes: Seafood and Chop rooftop happy hour. I had 20 $1 oysters. Great location, but expensive drinks.
